Monas Hieroglyphica/The Hieroglyphic Monad
It has been over 50 years since Dr. John Dee's Monas Hieroglyphica has been translated into English. Now, Waning Moon Publications is excited to be publishing a new translation by Nancy Turner and Teresa Burns which has long been awaited by both scholars and magicians alike.
Dee claims this enigmatic treatise on symbolic language will revolutionize astronomy, alchemy, mathematics, linguistics, mechanics, music, optics, magic, and adeptship. The essay explains his discovery of the monad (unity) underlying the universe as expressed in a hieroglyph or symbol. Dee called this "Hieroglyphic Monad," a "magical parable" based on the Doctrine of Correspondences, which lies at the heart of alchemy. Through careful meditation and study of the glyph, he promised, its secrets may be slowly revealed.
