Gothic Nail Care Forum Interactions with non-Goths Posted By: widow noire I just pointed my nails for the first time. I went out yesterday to celebrate by buying some nail care products (I had put some clear Sally Hanson with Nylon on my nails to protect them). What I found was that without color, my nails were...noticeable. And they're not even that long! A few people stared at my fingers for a moment, and although no one said anything (I was in NYC's East Village), it felt strange that people were looking at my hands.
I've had people stare at my hands before, when I've worn my talon rings, and being into SM, I'm used to people staring at my clothes. But usually I'm not in gear until after sundown. It felt strange to be looked at around 2pm on a Friday.
I'm not complaining, mind you. Just wondering, though-- how do the rest of you handle this? I'm going to be looking for a job soon-should I blunt my nail, or let them grow? Have any of you had any comments about your unusual fingernails, and what have ou replied?
BTW, I painted them and they still look pointy, but less so. I can't make up my mind whether to keep them polished or not.
