Gells vs. Acrylics

I was wondering if anyones ever had any experience with gells. I've tried acrylics a few times and hated them. They were to thick and artifical looking. The only reason I'm resorting to fake nails is because mine can no longer get beyond the tips of my fingers. They've become so hard and brittle that they are prone to breaking. I've tried the polishes to help with nails but they only seem to make the problem worse. I miss my natural, long nails!

I'm ready to go in and get gells but I'd like to hear any experiences anyone has had with them.
