deformed nails

hi,

I´m visiting this great site+forum for about 2 months now, and trying to get long goth nails, too.

Now they are long enough, but I´m facing a very big problem: some of my nails are quite "deformed", growing just too wide/flat after leaving the nail bed, so that they don´t look cool. To be true, I´m near to cutting my nails again.... (maybe, girls are just setting a very high "standard" in nail form these days, perhaps too high for us guys to reach).

Is there anything one could do to deal with nail deformation? There are a lot of "tips" on the internet only referring to real nail(bed)-illness, and just advising to get professional help; in my case (and I guess also in most guys case), it´s just natural, because for a long time when we had short nails, we used them without caring about the possible consequences for their form. If you have any tips on what to do in order to fix the problem, or just how to style those difficult nails, please let me know.
