a couple ideas (really long post!)

so I just located this site, and after reading the whole thing (thanks insomnia!) I thought I would add a couple things (cause I ALWAYS have something to add) As far as blood red polishes, I found my all time favorite polish color in a line called Jane, I got it at wal mart for like 3 dollars, its called hot blooded, and it totally rocks, just by itself I get massive compliments. Also, I have a favorite "style" that I probably stole from a million other people, but a friend of mine nicknamed it the "devils manicure" W/O the backround, I will just tell you...I paint my nails with a couple coats of blood red, and after it has dried, I CAREFULLY paint an arc in black (you KNOW what a french manicure looks like, just like that, but in black) I use two coats of black, and maybe another if I screw it up. It looks best on square or oval nails, it looks kinda dumb on pointed ones, or really long ones. A variation on this is to go about painting your nails red, and after it has totally dried, use a piece of scotch tape and place it on your nail in a diagonal way, then paint a couple of layers of black over the tape, after they are tacky, peel it off and voila, it does make a very cool effect, you could make them all the same, or have one diagonal pointing one way, adn the next, a different way. If you like painting stripes up your nails, scotch tape is a godsend here as well, it doesn't take much longer, and the look is much more straight, and even. One last thing I would like to say, regarding fake nails. I adore fake nails, I have worn them for qite some time, and they are so much simpler than the real thing. I adore fing'rs (also availabe at places like wal mart) they are fairly cheap, and come in a million different shapes. It takes a little practice, but the rewards are worth it. If you want to change your length, it is as simple as going to a different style nail, it is MUCH harder to damage fake nails, I could go on and on. The secret is in your technique though. I have mine down to a science. I constantly have people ask if my nails are real, if I had them done professionally, if I will do theirs. Use the glue, not the strips, use tiny amounts of glue, putting to much on your nail makes a disgusting crusty layer around your skin that WILL come off fairly quickly but WILL look funny until it does. Nail glue is a funny thing. Keeping a pin around along with your nail glue is a good idea. Using your teeth to peel the dried glue off the top of the bottle is not. I have had nail glue stick to the back of my teeth for days, and you can't taste anything when it is all over your toungue. I have also had leaky nailglue (or careless application) ruin clothing. It is normal for it to smoke when it touches certian types of fabrics, but clothes don't get ruined that way, they get ruined when the glue clumps up on your favorite panne velvet skirt. Once you get good at it (its not rocket science after all) you can use dollar store nails and they will still look amazing (I know from personal experience) If anyone would like more prattle, email me and i will be happy to fill my endless day with sending off more of it.
