Restarting Nail Growth

Hi,

I've been trying to grow my nails out but they keep on breaking or chipping and I've decided to start all over and trim my nails all the way down and starting over. I was wondering if you could give me any good tips on how to take care of them and perhaps help them grow faster until they reach the desired length? Any kind of information or tips would be helpful right now. Thanks a bunch.
