I forgot to mention that some brands of polish seem to last longer than others. The fast-drying polishes seem to chip off pretty quick, and so do polishes that are thicker in consistency and take a bit longer to dry. Price is certainly no indicator of how good a polish is or how long it will last. In my opinion, these are a few of the brands I've worked with that have good staying power: OPI, Revlon, Stila, Hard Candy, Wet-N-Wild, L'Oreal, and Essie.
