My nails are probably getting on for an inch past my fingertips, and i use the tips of them to type with. I'm not sure if acrylics are strong enough for that as I've never used them, but once you've adjusted to extra long fingers it becomes fairly natural. Only problem is that typing blunts the nice points that i file onto them...
