Another thing about the kind of strengthener that has fibers in it- after you put on a coat the "normal" way (back to tip) put on a second coat from side to side. This "weaves" the fibers, making it stronger. An especially good trick if you have very brittle or thin nails.
BTW I'm a cosmetology student right now and have to learn all this kind of stuff for my license.
