soft lunula, and acrylic allergy

Hi! Please help, I'm a nail tech of 8 years and am totally stumped by this one.
My client wore acyrlic for some years before coming to me,and she had taken them off about three months prior to my treatments. She explained that her skin started to peel off around her nails and was left painful, red and often with puss coming out.
Naturally I spoke with her old tech, and found out she had tried EZ Flow, N.S.I, and Creative all with the same results.
Since I started treating her she has never had that problem again, but of course she has never had really beautiful nails either. Her nails will not grow.
I have performed patch tests, of every product under the sun, inc gel, different liquid/powder systems, acetone, resin, etc etc. With no reaction on tested area.(inner arms)
Her lunula is so soft, cuticle work is impossible, and although her free edge is soft, it actually flakes.
I have tried Nailtiques, Jessica, Nail magic, millions of manicures, and diet supplements, but to no avail. She would happily try new extensions, but is frightened that it might happen all over again.
Any ideas??
P.S her toe nails are very soft as well.
