mixing colors

i strongly advise it.

brands like urban decay usually carry great colors, but there's no way in hell i'm paying $11 for a bottle of nail polish.

i've discovered mixing basic colors from cheap brands like wet 'n' wild and artmatic (right in the bottle) is pretty much the best way to go. i know you suggested layering colors, but if you're aiming for a particular shade mixing the polish itself is about the only way you'll be able to get it.
