DON'T CUT YOUR NAILS!!!!!!!!!!!
Use some self adhesive silk or fiberglass nail wrap (a piece of a tea bag will work too,just the EMPTY paper part ;))trim it to fit your nail and secure it with some nail glue or resin (a couple of coats of the brush on kind would be the easiest and least messy) then take a soft white block style nail buffer and buff the repaired nail smooth (don't buff through the wrap!) Easy does it. All these things should be available at any drug store or beauty supply!
