I'm not an expert on nail growth but make sure the nail hardener you use has a moisturising ingredient, I use Nail Xtra 3 in 1. It's easier if you just trim all your nails down to the same length and start again, applying the hardener every other day. If your nails seem to be really soft and fragile it might be good to apply a couple of clear coats after that as well.
