Gothic Nail Care Forum claws Posted By: Panther Queen I want claws! I have seen them on quite a few people, this site included, & I've always loved the way they looked. I would like to make my nails pointed like that, but what I couldn't seem to find(maybe I overlooked it?) is to how to actually make them pointed like that. I don't have the slightes idea how to make them sharp & pointed. If that wasn't enough, I have some other problems w/ starting this. For one I tend to get these little dark lines under the nail on the nail bed(pink part). They are sometimes easy to scrape off, sometimes not, once the nail grows out. I've been told that this is dired blood caused by bumping, smashing, hitting, bending, ect. of the nail. I can make sense of that. What I can't make sense of is why they just started appearing about 1 to 2 months ago & never before. Is what I was told true? Is that what causes them? If so, why now & not then? Another problem I have is that the nail tip(white part) sometimes has clear parts on it. Sometimes these clear parts are just a little bit lighter shade of white, but many times they are so clear that if I were to stick something on the onderside of the nail tip or to stick it over something instead of seeing just a hint or shadow of it like I should, I can see it nearly as visible as if it were on the top of the nail itself. What causes this? How do I correct this? Last, but not least my nails are very brittle & split & break easy. They aren't strong at all & bend at the slighetest little touch. I know they are made to bend, but I don't think they're spoosed to bend that much. They are really fragile & soft. I've tried a few different typs of nail hardeners. I've even tried without the use of nail hardener. None of it seems to have helped any. Due to this, all my nails are differnt lengths & whatnot from breaking & splitting. In fact, I have already lost both my pointer finger nail tips(one broke off about a week ago & hasn't fully grown back out, leaving just a small tip where it's starting to; the other split off last night while watching a show) & my thumb nail spilt this morning while putting a dress on. From what I can tell & thread caught under the side of it on the nail bed & sliced through the nail. I currently have a band aide over it because I know if it splits any further it will spilt into the quick & it's gonna hurt worse than when it happened. Any help that anybody can give me on any of these subjects would be greatly appreciated.
