Hi,
Lack of Lunula is nothing serious! Your nail is made up of hundreds and hundreds of cells. The lunula contains the baby cells and the free edge contains the mature cells. Your Lunula is present on your nail bed even if you cannot see it. Your baby cells may simply be hanging out under your cuticle ;o). Don't worry, it's just the composition of your nail...which wants to play peekaboo with you.

And for the difficult client,
My guess would be allergy to the skin (as I am experiencing this myself after over 10 years in the biz)and once you are allergic, you are allergic for life. If her nails were soft b4 her reaction, then her nail is just that way. You say they don't grow? Did you mean the won't harden? Send her to a dermatologist and add another knotch to your belt! Let us all know the results!
