curving nails

i am constantly trying to grow my nails out. most of my nails grow out just fine, but some of them, especially those on the index and middle fingers of both hands curve slightly inward once they grow out to about 3/4 of an inch (measurement from cuticle). this happens every time! what could be causing this and how can i fix it?
