Gothic Nail Care Forum Permanent black nail varnish! Posted By: Xander One time I tried thinning a bottle of clear varnish since it was getting thick. I used a bottle of remover to do this. Being a guy I find it hard to wear varnish(black is my favourite)opebly and for a long time so my alternative is to paint my nails with black acrylic paint then apply clear nail varnish. Problem was next morning when I went to take off my varnish it wouldn't budge at all! Normally this 'varnish' doesnt come off easily and only with scratcing and applying a little force or with nail remover, but this time everything I tried failed. I wouldbt mind having a hand of glossy black nails but this seemed permanent and I had school tomorrow! Luckily after enough vigouros scratching (and damaging my nails) I got off the varnish. That varnish I used was an old bottle and now I use Rimmel's clear coat.
