Gothic Nail Care Forum nails too soft Posted By: StormFire I noticed the "my awful nails" thread, but it didn't really apply to me. Apparently I have the exact opposite problem from most people. My nails are very, very soft and tear quite easily. At least once a week a small tear will start in the side of a nail, often from something as simple as brushing my hair out of my face. The only thing I've been able to think of to protect the nail from tearing is polish, but I can't get that to work either. The nails are extremely flexible, and almost impossible to keep polish on, because they seem to ooze oils through the nail from the nail bed. The only time I've managed to keep polish on my nails for more than two days without having the whole sheet of it peel off the nail was when I had (ugh!) acrylics. I'd hate to have to resort to that again.
